Leaner Use of Gasoline

As we cruise into the July 4th holiday weekend, drivers in Northwest states are using gas at levels not seen in more than 40 years, and well below the national average. Support remains high for the BC gas tax -- even as it bumps up slightly. US veterans are getting trained for green-collar jobs in solar energy and waste management thanks to federal funding.

Northwest drivers using less gas

If it seems like you're buying less gas these days, you're probably right. A new study from a Seattle-based sustainability think tank finds total gasoline consumption across the Northwest dropped sharply last year. In fact, per-capita gasoline use has dropped in 8 of the last 9 years, and it's now at its lowest level since 1965. Go to article.
