Announcing Sightline Daily

Dear Tidepool and Daily Score readers:

On Monday, March 10, we will unveil some exciting changes to the Tidepool news service and  Sightline’s Daily Score blog that will make our news service and commentary even more vital fuel for your work.

In brief, we’re launching Tidepool and the Daily Score on a website called Sightline Daily. The site features the same daily snapshot of the most important sustainability news affecting Cascadia that you’re used to via Tidepool, combined with expert insight that helps connect the dots and points to solutions. Our goal is to help innovative thinkers--like you--understand and solve the environmental, social, and economic challenges facing the Northwest.

We think of Sightline Daily as “Tidepool Plus.”

We’re especially excited about:

• A scannable front page and daily email with top news headlines from around Cascadia that show how the issues are connected.
• News that’s organized by topic or region, with customizable RSS feeds.
• An easy way for you to submit news headlines from your corner of Cascadia.
• Daily commentary (on Sightline’s Daily Score blog) on topics ranging from urban design to climate fairness to green living. You can share your ideas with others in the community by posting comments on the blog.

Here’s what won’t change: We'll continue to sift through the region’s news and hand-pick the stories that really matter to your work – just like we’ve done with Tidepool. For 10 years, Tidepool’s editors have clocked in at 5 a.m. each weekday to read more than 40 Northwest newspapers--and that won’t change either. (But offers of free coffee are still gladly accepted!)

We’re so excited about the new site--it will be at daily.sightline.org next week. Please explore it and let us know what you think.

If you currently subscribe to MorningTide daily news, you’ll start receiving the redesigned emails on Monday. If you subscribe to the Weekly Score Friday updates with blog commentary and headlines, the redesigned emails will begin arriving the Friday after next, March 14.
