Male contraceptive options haven’t changed since Elvis was thin, cars had fins, and Ike was stumping for your vote. Though the condom is important, its contraceptive dependability is lacking. Meanwhile, female options have proliferated and improved, and women have generally been shouldered (and trusted) with managing contraception in their relationships. Sometimes, this results in unplanned pregnancies and children. When men can take charge of their fertility, cultural norms will change, and all of us—men, women, and children—will benefit.
