		<description><![CDATA[Thanks for covering this. It&#039;s an ongoing issue in BC. Every 1 - 2 years I get the white pages books (yes, that&#039;s books, as in plural) dropped on my doorstep. I call the companies each year and ask them to take me off the list. They say &quot;sure&quot; and then I get the books a year or two later. When I call back to complain they give an excuse how they&#039;ve changed their customer database and the old info did not come forward. Uh-huh.]]></description>

In my original coverage of this topic I included a bit about Oregon. See: http://daily.sightline.org/2011/06/27/white-pages/

The short story is that a rather good Senate bill was introduced in Oregon in 2011, but then activity seems to have stalled out. Once we get Washington sorted out, it&#039;s my intention to turn the spotlight on Oregon. It would be terrific if local advocates were excited about reforming white pages law in Oregon!]]></description>
